EN The article concerns the question of research on small knight’s seat in Silesia. Results of excavations carried out in the area and in surroundings of the knight’s seat in Niemstów (Lubin district, Lower Silesian Voivodship) gave rise to the research on the subject. There, the preserved complex is located in a marshy depression, at the southern end of the village. A quadrilateral embankment 34 x 34 m in size, surrounded by a moat 8-15 m wide and an outer rampart, is the main element of the object. During archaeological excavations in the NW part of the plateau, was found a corner of residential tower, built of field stones bonded with clay. The upper stores of the building had a wooden and clay structure, with a roof covered with ceramic tiles. During the excavations were found a lot of small things: fragments of ceramic vessels, stove tiles decorated with zoomorphic motifs, a lid with a zoomorphic handle, a miniature glazed flacon, a fragment of a glass cup, a door lock fitting, an iron key, a chest closing fitting, arrowhead of a crossbow, ceramic tiles and animal bones. These materials were dated to the second half of the 14th and 15th centuries. Based on the confrontation with written sources, this object can be identified as the foundation of the knightly family von Rechenberg.
