EN This paper explores the distributions of motifs comparable to those on a vessel found in a late Funnel Beaker pit at the site of Bronocice. This pit, with widely known Bronocice vessel, contained animal bones, flint artifacts and potsherds typical of the Funnel Beaker BR III phase defined at Bronocice; a cow bone from the same level of the pit produced a radiocarbon assay indicating a calendar age between 3637 and 3373 BC. The vessel is commonly viewed as unique, particularly in its graphic embellishments and the semantic associated with them. However, imagery on ceramics excavated elsewhere at Bronocice suggest that the Bronocice vessel is not a singularity. A preliminary comparative examination of these vessels illuminates the iconographic connections and contexts of the Bronocice vessel. This, in turn, suggests insights into the semantic systems that motivated the production of these materials and ways in with they may reflect patterns of sociocultural affiliation.
