PL The aim of the analyses of stable carbon and nitrogen isotopes was to reconstruct the diet of the Final Eneolithic communities from south-eastern Poland and western Ukraine. A total of 78 bone samples were analysed, including 64 human remains and 14 animal bones. The analyses were carried out at the Poznań Radiocarbon Laboratory and the Isotope Laboratory of the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. The collagen obtained from all the human and animal remains was sufficiently preserved for isotope analyses, and the results were presented against the background of the local environmental data obtained by Mueller-Bieniek et al. (2019) from plant macroremains dated to the Neolithic. The obtained values allowed the diet of the analysed people to be generally described as inland, based on C3 plants, and supplemented with animal products. A comparison of the mobile Corded Ware culture population with the data obtained for other Neolithic communities and the Lusatian culture revealed a significant share of animal products in the Corded Ware culture diet, indicating subsistence strategies based on pastoralism. These conclusions are consistent with results of traceological studies which underline the great importance of raw materials of animal origin (especially leather) and wood in the life of the discussed communities. Moreover, the raw material structure of the lithic inventories indicates a relatively high mobility of the Corded Ware culture groups, which is also consistent with the picture emerging from analyses of other archaeological materials. It is worth underlining that the studied groups from south-eastern Poland can be seen as a benchmark sample for late Corded Ware culture communities.
