EN The Anthropology of Subjectivity in the Context of the ‘Meeting of East and West’. An Interpretation of an Italian Woman Traveller’s Horseback Trip From Mongolia to Krakow Tanagad synthesises two types of philosophical thinking about the individual and the individual’s relations with the world and other entities. Selected ideas of the Enlightenment philosophy are confronted with the idea of interdependence in theBuddhist doctrine of madhyamaka (the golden mean) in reference to the internal relation in logical thinking. Tanagad analyses an Italian traveller’s accounts, at a conference in Krakow and in online interviews, of her horseback trip from Mongolia to Poland. This makes it possible for Tanagad to illustrate different cultural contexts of these ideas.
