PL Powstanie najstarszego osiedla w widłach Warty i Noteci łączymy z VIII wiekiem.
Jahrhundert in Verbindung gebracht. Jahrhunderts fallen.
EN We link the construction of the oldest settlement at the fork of the Warta and Noteć rivers with the 8th century. These findings are based on absolute dating and the analysis of archaeological sources in a broad cultural context. The oldest phase of settlement of the left-bank Santok is associated with an open settlement, not embanked, used only seasonally as a stopping point on the interregional water route. The next phase – the pre-gord phase, falling in the second half of the 9th century – is marked by more solid buildings, in the log technique, which appeared in place of the existing buildings. The settlement took on a permanent, year-round character. The last stage of the functioning of an open settlement is determined by investments related to the construction of the first wood and earth fortifications, which we connect with the end of the 9th or the beginning of the 10th century.
