EN The author presents the size of the economic activity of women (wives, widows) as well as the range of their social contacts. She analyses all types of the municipal court books concerning towns of various sizes in the Polish lands from the 15th to the beginning of the 16th century, with particular emphasis on Kraków. The most important records are the last wills and inventories of movable goods from this town. The aim of this presentation is to show the role of women in urban professional life in Central Europe.
