EN The aim of the article is to present the results of the Polish – Romanian and the Polish – Bulgarian research projects (2016–2018). By examining and analyzing contemporary strategies of representing and (re)interpreting the past, manifested through the military museum exhibitions (permanent and temporary) and narratives developed around them, this paper is an attempt to answer the question: what are military museums for?
