EN In this book, we use the Bayesian chronological modeling for the interpretation of radiocarbon dates from Bronocice. The data have resulted from large scale excavations conducted on the Baski elevation at Bronocice by the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology, Polish Academy of Sciences and the State University of New York at Buffalo. In this publication, we are using Bayesian chronological modeling for the interpretation of radiocarbon dates from Bronocice. This permits us to combine a large number of radiocarbon dates with other archaeological data. Bayesian statistics provide a formal and explicit methodology for weaning together different strands of evidence to form the cable. Calibrated radiocarbon dates or other data estimates on the calendar scale, are combined with archaeological prior information of various kinds to produce a combined chronology that should be more reliable than its individual components. The resultant cable should be both stronger and tighter. Sometimes it is called the third radiocarbon revolution. We provide information that assesses the quality of the archaeological model. Details about samples used in radiocarbon measurements are essential for Bayesian chronological models.
